Welcome to the swimming hole for the eclectically
charged and like-minded musically conscious person.
We
celebrate creative thought, motion and positive
intention through the arts. What we hope to
accomplish here is to create a transformative
space for people to share their sound and visual
vibe with like-minded and eco-conscious beings,
in the studio, in concert and on line. To help
you gather momentum with yours and our sonic
vision of current artistic or musical projects
as it relates to creating a better more
sustainable place on our planet.
If
you like this site and can relate to being; 1)
Grateful 2) Humble 3)Open to higher levels of
consciousness and feel there can and should be a
more effective and sustainable way to
individually and collectively evolve on the
planet and you feel your music speaks louder
than words, then you are in the right place.
When words and meetings have little effect on
positive change in our world or in your own
life, when the world, the media and news brings
you down, there is something that can be done.
Your music, your craft and your vibe can and
does work when applied correctly!
There is tremendous untapped power in the arts,
especially particular sound frequencies, where
positive change happens. Certain collaborative
sound events, coupled with positive INTENTION
opens the door to higher levels of consciousness
and change. These levels of consciousness occur
naturally when the intellect is quieted or
ultimately turned off, as the expression goes
“turn off and tune in”.
How do we turn off our intellect? There are many
ways, meditation is probably the best way but
there is also exercise, repetitive motion, or
focusing on your breath, all of which hold their
own meditative qualities to name a few.
It
started with the didgeridoo for me in 1998. I studied
this instrument intently, started a school performance
business called
Didgequest. I brought my experience and this
indigenous sound to the education world and Universities
up and down the east coast. Eventually I went back to
Australia several more times in search of Aboriginal
sound healers and people who were willing to talk to me
about this fascinating instrument. When I came back to
the states, I started playing and experimenting with
dozens of different musicians and sounds in nature. I
then became part of a band called the
MaGeePa Project
with some unbelievably talented people, Rich McGhee, Bob Kruetler, Joel Myers, Alvin Carter and Margaux Hayze.
Over the course of the next 24 months we knocked out 30
albums, seven music videos, close to a dozen live
performances, two best of compilations and over 350
songs! This band is prolific to say the least. As a
group of artists we were humble, listened and supported
each other in a collaborative creatively rich
environment that opened the gate to this power I speak
of.
The words, the message, and the vibe even the recording
studio, and now this “sound experiment” were created by
this energy that I speak of. This energy now needs to
expand and be available to more people who have ideas
that can help move this vibe of change forward. We want
you to be apart of it.
I found that playing with other instruments like violas,
bass guitars, percussion instruments of all types,
horns, pianos, harps, tambours, sitars, harmonicas,
vocals of all kinds and many more, became the gateway to
the “present moment”. When you check your ego at the
door and the room is filled with focused collaborative
intent, magic happens and the Now, creeps in.
What Blue Star Studios has recorded visually and audibly
over the past ten years is nothing short of fantastic!
Just check out the Blue Star Session to see for
yourself. I have found that there are many people and
musicians that share this connection, are you one of
them? This recording studio accommodates the gathering
of people who have something to play. Let’s hear from
you!
