MaGeePa Project

Original and provocative, The MaGeePa project is a sound vibe that takes fusion to a new level of funk! Dubbing classic rock beats with jazz and global rhythms, put simply it’s a sound not to be missed.  A style that sets the psyche right, transporting any audience from daily routines into spinning possibilities and space. A sure fix for any dilemma.

The tracks send you climbing a musical tree with branches of mood that go from sexy to Zappa within minutes. The band is comprised of five sentient beings sometimes called the universal vibe tribe.  Members include but are not limited to Rich McGhee III" Lead horns and coolness, Pete Onofrio: vocals, Didgeridoo, flutes and other things that make noise, Bob Kreutler: four string groove inducer, Joel Myers:  drums and Margaux Hayes: vocals and percussion.

April 29, 2007 MageePa Project gathered with friend and fellow musician Fugan Dunean, Fugan a postgraduate and world rhythms expert, studied  and continues to work closely with the music scene at the North East renowned art college.

Duneans style of world beats and series of complex polyrhythm catapulted MaGeePas rich sound into world tribal and sophisticated grooves that never say die!

This was an intense and focused session that MaGeePa is proud to share with its listeners.  Big Thanks to Fugan for making the time to come and share his passion.

".....Rhythmic Dissonance with a Beatnik Attitude and an Organic Flair. In certain tunes, there are moments that remind me of Pink Floyd. Yeah Baby!

I very much enjoy each individual instrument and am grateful for music in nature and music created through human sensitivity and insight. Probably because of complications with my upbringing (smile), musical dissonance doesn't typically work with my constitution.

In the music you folks create, the rhythm and beatnik attitude elicit playfulness for me as a listener and the organic flair creates more of an interest and appreciation because of an understanding and affinity to all that that encompasses...." -- Rebecca P.
